A lever block is used to lift and move heavy loads without the aid of machinery. They can lift heavy loads in many positions. Its main advantage is a lever block’s ability to raise the items horizontally. The lever block will safely hold the items and allow easy lifting from multiple angles.
Lever blocks are lightweight and are easy to handle. Their durability, pleasing appearance, and compact size make them preferable for lifting applications. They are also highly efficient and require a light lever pull effort. A lever block is a portable lifting device operated by a hand lever. They are suitable for applications in factories, warehouses, docks, etc., or equipment installation, loading, or unloading of goods. They are specifically helpful for lifting applications in places without a power supply. Lever blocks help tighten, pull loads, etc.
There are certain factors to be taken into consideration while operating lever blocks. They should continuously be used from a location that will always be clear of loads. Confirming that the block is in good condition and functions properly before being used is also essential. Only lift loads at most the working load limit with lever blocks. Regular inspection of lever blocks is required to avoid unusual performance or block malfunctioning. Confirming that the supporting structure is strong enough to handle the intended lifting load is also important.
There are certain dos and don’ts while handling a lever block.
The factors should always be considered while using lever blocks:
Never use level blocks to perform excessive fixed handling
Never apply a load more significant than the agreed workload limit to a lever block.
Don’t put lever blocks with damaged or deformed parts into use.
Don’t use a chain that is twisted or kinked.
It is not advisable to suspend a load with two lever blocks
The ladle of the lever block should always be used slowly and excessively fast.
The lever block should only be used if the lock pawl is wholly engaged from the holder plate.
The upper and lower hooks should always be in alignment with the chain.
Don’t give lever blocks load pressures.
